Also known as indulgent parenting. This parent has relatively few demands on their teenager. Hence discipline is a rarity. They emphasize on showing ‘Johny and Jane’ affection, warmth and less expectation of them to mature, be self-controlled and disciplined.
How so?
– Soo loving.
– Asks their teenager’s opinion on major decisions (e.g., Whether Johnny feels like reporting back to school on the set dates or not)
– Emphasize their children’s freedom more than responsibility. (Jane can go hangout with the friends late. No matter the risk. So long as Jane is happy, momma Jane is)
– Few rules, structure, standards and schedules. (John chooses what to do when, how, and where)
– Use bribery to buy the teen’s love. (Showering Jane and Johnny with Gifts, gadgets, and expensive days out, so that Momma or daddy are called “cool parents”.
Outcome
– Johnny is indiscipline
– Jane is irresponsible
– Johnny lacks resilience.
– Jane is experimenting on dangerous behaviors.
– Momma and Daddy loose authority over both of them. – Chaos and Quarrels allover.
